For quite some time now, there has been a big scam running on YouTube, which many big YouTubers have talked about on their channels and have asked you to be alert. However, YouTube has not taken any solid action against it yet.
Here’s how the scam works: whenever you comment on a video, scammers reply to you from fake accounts, asking you to reply on Telegram or WhatsApp for a giveaway. You get easily trapped in this scam because the name of the channel that replies matches the name of the creator and they use the same photo that the creator has used.
How youtube can solve this issue? YouTube has the technology to match photos to the scammer and creator’s photo. If the photo is the same, then that comment can be held for review. This way, the creator can later review the comment themselves. If the channel name matches 90%, the comment can still be held for review.
