How to check if an internet website is legit?
1. Study the address bar and URL. Does is have a padlock in the address bar?
2. Investigate the SSL certificate. ( For advanced users!) Hackers are good at spoofing real looking internet websites.
3. Check the internet website for poor grammar or spelling. Major red flag!
4. Verify the internet website domain. Copy and Paste the URL in the @Google Google Transparency Report.
5. Check the contact page. Does it have a real address and phone number?
6. Look up and review the company’s social media presence.
